So it will tell you something to the effect of 'device not recognized' don't be fooled. Plug it in, close out the message that it isn't recognized, then go to your photos and under your photos there will be a new tab or folder that shows the pictures that are on the card reader. Also make sure that the switch on the side is selected for the card reader not the usb..."________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Here is what I found: Hidden inside the box it comes in is a tiny user guide that explains proper hookup to your devices and cards. The USB slot is useless unless you connect a powered-on camera to it with a USB cable or if using a USB stick, it is necessary to connect through a powered USB hub. The iPad 3 will only put out 20ma through its port and therefore will not drive most USB devices. But if your USB device is powered, it should work. Also, if your photos are on a USB stick they must be contained in a folder named 'DCIM'. There is a switch on the side of the Sharkk to select either SD cards or USB. When everything is properly configured, simply plug the reader into the side connector on your iPad and after a short minute the photo app comes up displaying thumbnails or all your photos. You can then select any photos you might want to import to your iPad. So Cool!!
